Aspects of Mis en scene:
Set Design: The set is designed to look similar to a common press conference. We chosen the location due to the white board in which we wanted as this was important to the set design as we used it to write on it. We have written a game of hang man on it as one of the general themes are board games. We have added a hint to the Jenga theme in the hang man in which the word is Jenga. The microphones were added due to the research into press conferences which showed that they used microphones so we added them for realism. We also added chess pieces which relate to the board game theme, images of the official london 2012 olympics as the announcement is for these games. And we added a name panel so the audience knows who is talking without any other mention of his name.
Lighting: We are aiming to portray some aspects of realism in our film opening so we decided upon using natural lighting. In order to get the right quantify of light to make it clear to see what is happening we closed/opened some of the curatins that was on the location. We constantly kept looking through the camera lens until we got the right colour.
Costume: The costume of the announcer was of a formal outfit as our research showed that formal wear was a constant feature in press conferences. We made the charter look a bit geeky with glasses and style of hair. We did this as the stereotypical borad game player is a geek so we decided to make the Jenga player less of a geek and more of an actual athlete and the announcer as the geek.
